What Do Costumers Say About This Item?

Rainbow Light Prenatal Vitamins Marketed As ‘Free Of Heavy Metals’ Found To Contain Lead, Arsenic, CadmiumNow, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office says one brand of prenatal vitamins went too far in their marketing claims.LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Women take prenatal vitamins to keep themselves and their unborn babies healthy. Now, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office says one brand of prenatal vitamins went too far in their marketing claims.According to the City Attorney’s Office, the case began after officials noted Rainbow Light had advertised its vitamins as “free of heavy metals” and claimed to have been made “with the lowest detectable lead level” on the market. An investigation using a third-party lab test found that vitamins made by the company Rainbow Light contained lead, arsenic, and cadmium, said Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer.“The vitamins were not, in fact, free of heavy metals…the vitamins were not, in fact, made with materials with the lowest detectable levels of lead on the market,” said Feuer. The company cooperated and removed its allegedly misleading advertising when Feuer’s office brought the results to Rainbow Light’s attention, officials said.On Wednesday, the city attorney announced a $1.5 million settlement with Rainbow Light for false advertising. The settlement includes $1.5 million in restitution for California consumers who bought prenatal vitamins from the company in the past four years and $250,000 in civil penalties and costs. The company will also be required to test their prenatal vitamins every six months to make sure they fall below state limits.Rainbow Light released a statement stating, “Our prenatal and postnatal vitamins are safe and have less lead than you could find in a typical serving of spinach. Because our vitamins include plant and mineral-based ingredients, they contain trace elements of lead and other heavy metals.”Medical experts say when picking a prenatal or any other vitamin, do your research. The longer a brand has been around, the better.

stay away. I have always been taking Rainbow men's one supplement and it was fine with me although my younger brother got headaches taking them. When my wife was pregnant we thought we should try this. But please be aware that the amount of Vitamin A in these pills are very high and dangerous to the liver. the OB/GY Dr didn't catch this but when we did our yearly exam the Alanine transaminase (ALT) which is related to the liver was very high. They said the only way this can happen in a pregnant woman is if she drinks alcohol when pregnant. None of the Dr.s questioned the vitamins but after I read online about someone else's exact issue on her blog, we stopped using that and surly after 2 to 3 weeks the amount of ALT went from way bad into normal range. We went through a few Dr office visits and blood works and a an abdominal ultrasound which all could have been prevented. Our baby will be born in a few days so I thought I would share this with everyone. I also would like to add that I contacted customer service and all I got was crappy and confused responses.Compare the Vitamin A on these bottles with other more known brands and check with your Dr.

Very disappointed! I have six children and for out of the six I have used this prenatal vitamin by rainbow light. They have changed their product they have taken things out and have decreased the amount of what's in it. I'm very very very disappointed I will not be re-purchasing.

The makers of Rainbow Light prenatal vitamins were hit with a class action lawsuit and settlement alleging that the company falsely advertised its products and that it is engaging in unfair competition through its false marketing.Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer announced on Aug. 14 that it reached a settlement with Rainbow Light Nutritional Systems, LLC and its affiliates for advertising its prenatal vitamins as “free of heavy metals” and having “the lowest detectable lead level,” which Feuer says are innacurate claims.According to Feuer, a third-party lab found that the vitamins contain lead, arsenic and cadmium.

NOT COUNTERFEITSimilar to many other recent reviews about these, I too received a bottle that looked drastically different from what I usually take. I just got off the phone with customer service rep, Nancy, from Rainbow Light, and the company guarantees these are the real deal. Due to new FDA rules, supplement facts and figures must be updated, which is why numbers are now different. In addition, the formula has been updated for better absorption and nutrition.Items to note that I garnered from the call:-Rainbow Light is updating labels across the board. The new labels will also start appearing on store shelves. Hopefully will also be updated on the Amazon site by the RL ecommerce team.-The cap is now green, not just printed on the wrapper.-Rainbow Light monitors third party sellers very tightly and has no qualms about shutting down a shady operation.-Better formulation-Changed for FDA compliancy

I ordered these at the start of my pregnancy because I was looking for a prenatal vitamin that had added probiotics for my stomach and I loved that the had the gentle blend for my digestive system. I also wanted to take just one tablet a day so that was a huge plus. It ran out coming closer to my due date so I ordered back the same item because I wanted to keep on taking it even after delivery and into nursing. The second bottle I ordered the label was different in front no big deal some products change they look sometimes. Upon investigating I notice the ingredients were slightly different and some of the quantities have changed. I don’t know why but the formula before was really working for me and it sucks that they have changed the formula and didn’t mention it or I would have given five stars. Haven’t started to that the new ones as yet so I dont know if I’ll be able to tell the difference.

I started researching for a food based capsule once I found out other kinds may cause constipation, of which I suffer, especially while pregnant. I decided to try these, as they were budget friendly and vegan! It did not help with my constipation, however I suffered no stomach cramps with these, which was a huge plus! It is a fairly large tablet, I had no trouble swallowing it, but others may be put off by its size; my suggestion, cut it in two, it holds up super well!
