We got this toy today, my 1 year old daughter got so excited when she saw the toy, I gave it to her to play with and as all 1 year olds first thing she did was put it in her mouth. About 15 min later she brought it back to me and I noticed that the paint on the penguin’s legs was coming off. I was thrilled to get this for her to play in the bath, but given that the paint is coming off, it’s not safe for a baby. I am disappointed, why would you paint a toy that’s designed for kids who stick…

He’s cute and his little arms twist up and swim him around but he fills with water, fast. Then he isn’t strong enough to swim around anymore and gives me concern about mold inside (he does not come apart). I try to empty the water after each bath but cannot certain ask the water came out.

I will say first off, they are bigger than I had anticipated. I bought for stocking stuffers thinking they would be like the size of your typical wind up toy and they are bigger lol.
One of the cheapest things purchased and one of their favorites. Bevause they are so big I’m not sure how much swimming room it would have in the bathtub but it would be great in a pool too. I let them test it in the sink Christmas night, the following day I…

We bathe with a little coconut oil in the water. Evidently all of the paint on this toy comes off with oil. My little guy was sucking on it and I see he has paint all over his mouth… Since he loves the toy so much I ended up removing all the paint with some coconut oil on a washcloth. The toy is now blue and white with sticker eyes. Needless to say, it’s not great when your kid is ingesting some unknown paint :/

I don’t know if i got a broken one but we can wind it for forever and nothing happens. It’s a shame as I’m usually a big fan of Munchkin’s products but this one just seems expensive for just sitting there doing nothing?

We always clean our toys when our daughter is done playing. Just after a few months, we saw the toy started to grow black stuff and mold so we threw it away. I would stay away from this toy unless you only want it for a couple of months. It’s hard to clean because the arms have holes that we are unable to clean. If the outside is looking like this, then imagine what the inside looks like since we are unable to clean the inside.

This thing is awful! I would have returned it if it were more expensive but I threw it away instead. Don’t waste your time or money. Mine never moved through the water, it didn’t have enough force to move the flippers once submerged, also paint was peeling when we got it and it fills with water. Yuck

As expected, the first place this toy went was in my 9 month old’s mouth. And almost immediately the paint started to come off in his mouth too. He’s got 4 teeth and was easily able to scratch the paint. Thinking it was a one-off, I tested it with my fingernail and it came off with no effort.
We hadn’t researched the product much, just thought it was cute. But now that I’ve read more reviews, and see others reporting the same issue, I think Munchkin should consider recalling this item. It’s…

Very cute little toy, was hoping to but one for each of my kids but it didn’t work at all. I wound it up properly but the fins will not spin at all. It also fills with water incredibly fast and sinks. I wouldn’t buy it.
