We purchased the Kura bed from Ikea and desperately needed a bed rail as we were going from a crib to a “big boy” bed for my son. I searched high and low and came upon this one from Munchkin. I really liked that it came in different colors and looked more modern and fun for my son’s room. There is a competitor brand that looks similar, but is much more expensive. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a bed rail that would have basically been half the price of the bed frame itself! This…

Best bedrail for slatted bed and / or bunk beds…we had another bedrail that did not work with our new slatted bunk beds, this one is by far the best we have tries, it works and does not compromise the mattress. We did end up tying up the front & back ends of the bedrail to the slats just to keep them in place under the mattress and so far so good. Only gave 4 stars as the price is quite hefty, but it works really well, therefore worth the price in our opinion.

Kid stays in the bed, teeth stay in the head.
This is a good product, fits ikea beds, I should know I bought an ikea bed.

We have the Slakt Extendable IKEA Bed. The IKEA guardrail does not fit on our bed unless it is fully extended. So if you’re looking for an effective guardrail that will work with an IKEA or slatted bed base, this is for you. It holds in place and has a handy flip down option. It’s worked really well for us so far!

We bought this particular bedrail due to its compatibility with recessed bed frames. We attempted to get a pair of these to work with an Ikea Malm twin-size bed with a slatted base. There was absolutely no secure way to have two of these on either side such that they didn’t slide off the wooden portions of the slats or have them dig sharply into the mattress from below. Overall, the bedrail appears sturdy and is easy to assemble. However, it’s just not suitable for the type of bed we have.

Pros
1 – The Munchkin Sleep Bed Rail was well packaged from the factory and all parts were present in the carton. This time, Amazon even shipped me an item in a suitable box that prevented damage in transit, which is about a 50-50 proposition from Amazon these days.
2 – The exposed bed rail assembly (including frame, netting and hinge mechanisms) has a pleasant appearance and seems both durable and likely easy to clean when necessary.
3 – The hinges and hinge lock/release buttons work fine and…

Finally, a rail that folds down easily with a framed bunk bed without a box spring.

Delivery was fast and item arrived in excellent condition. It is sturdy enough to withstand my son’s back and forth wiggling…for now 🙂 He has a platform crib/bed which is 5 inches deep and it was a bit tricky to make the rail work. We added two pieces of 1 inch plywood on top of the bed base (under the mattress) to make the depth less than 5 inches and it worked like a charm. My son likes this rail better than the original crib front panel because now he can get in and out of bed alone…

I used this on a twin bed with just a mattress and a laddered slat system in a recessed frame (Pottery Barn bed). Yes, the manufacturer says this isn’t designed for this type of bed – but for us, it has worked well. We did secure the metal poles to the slats for additional security and support (another reviewer mentioned doing that with zipties) and I feel like that has added even more stability to an already good product.
It was fairly easy to install, although not “1 minute installation”…

If you are looking for one side rail for the crib, this item is great. I took a star off because the assemble in my opinion was not easy on one part. The silver part that clicks into place was very stiff and I had to bang it against the floor to be able to click it into place. Also the directions say you need a 2 people for the last step but I don’t think that’s accurate I was able to do it by myself. At first when I opened the package I thought it was going to be too short but it has an…
