Initially the price had me wait, but when I saw the price drop some I gave. I am completely glad that I did. This gate is very sturdy and easy to install with the provided key. I wanted the light for my elderly dog so he would not trip over the gate. This gate has the ability to swing in, swing out, or to be set for either. The upside is that this installs easily, cleanly and looks elegant. The first downside is that the LED batteries run out pretty quickly but that’s not a showstopper. However, what we realized this week is that our 17 month old has figured out how to unlock this on FIRST TRY, which really speaks to whether this is really a safety gate. We loved how easy this was to install and it is very sturdy! The light was not needed but is a nice bonus for late night walks to the kitchen for bottles.

Easy to put together right out of the box. Instructions are clear. Tool needed for installation already included. Lock is smooth and easy to release but needs a good grasp of top and bottoms so hopefully not too easy for a child to open (will have to see). Love the wide opening compared to a lot of other gates. This was a big sell.

Takes a few minutes to install, but on the margin easier to get in place than any other gate we’ve tried.
But once it’s up, this gate looks like it came installed with the original staircase.
It also lets you choose wich direction to swing (which is really important around stairs)
It’s more expensive than the others. But absolutely worth the price.

Decent construction quality, however the auto led lighting went out after about 1 month, replaced batteries, never worked again. Overall, not worth the high price tag.

I purchased this specifically for the LED lighting, which is a necessity in the hallway I’m placing the gate in. Since that feature isn’t working, one star is all I can offer. I’ve changed the batteries and all, but all I got was a random blink here or there.
Trick 9 –
This is a really nice gate, and the light across the bottom is a great feature. It helps illuminate our stairs at night and reminds people there is a threshold to step over. It comes with a “key” to expand/contract it, which really is just an Allen wrench, so it thankfully shouldn’t matter if you lose it.

These are very nice quality gates. They are suspension gates (not screw in), but they’re very sturdy and not too hard to install. The light at the bottom is nice and not overly bright. Having worked with similar gates in the past, I would say these are worth the money.
